I’m Troy, a retired Air Force veteran and retired federal employee who enjoys asking questions, learning new things, and trying to understand why things are the way they are.
After 20 years in the Air Force and another career in federal service, retirement has given me a little more time to explore the things that catch my attention. That can mean government and veterans issues one day, history or current events the next, and travel, food, retirement, fishing, or everyday life somewhere in between.
I’ve Been Thinking… grew out of something I was already doing on Facebook: sharing things that interested me, asking questions, checking the facts, and having conversations with people who don’t always see things the same way.
When I write about government or politics, I try to look beyond red and blue. I’m interested in what the facts actually show and in hearing different perspectives. I don’t expect everyone to agree with me, and I’m certainly not going to have all the answers.
This blog is simply a place to share what I’m thinking, what I’m learning, and some of the experiences Laurie and I have along the way.
